Abilene Physical Therapy and Sports Rehab opened in 2005 and has stayed independent ever since. We run two clinics, one in Abilene and one in Chapman, with a team of 10 across treatment, front office and billing. Small enough that nobody here is anonymous. Established enough that the schedule is steady, the referral relationships are real, and 104 five-star reviews did not happen by accident. If you have spent a career being measured on volume, this will feel different inside the first week.
Physical Therapists
You carry your own caseload and you keep it. Evaluate, treat hands on, progress the plan, re-measure, and decide for yourself when someone is genuinely ready to be finished. Manual therapy, dry needling, ASTYM, LSVT BIG, vestibular work and pelvic health all live in this building, and if you want to build a niche there is room to build it. A current Kansas license is the requirement.
What the role involves →Physical Therapist Assistants
You are a licensed clinician here and you are treated like one. You deliver the plan of care alongside the supervising physical therapist, you have a real voice in how it progresses, and you are not parked on equipment resets while somebody else does the interesting work. Certification in LSVT BIG, ASTYM, or balance and vestibular rehab is supported here, not merely tolerated.
What a PTA does here →Aides, Front Office and Billing
A clinic runs on the people a patient meets before they ever see a therapist. PT aides keep treatment moving and learn the trade from the inside, which is the path one of our own clinicians took. Front office owns the schedule and the first impression. Billing verifies benefits before the first visit so nobody gets a surprise later. None of that is filler. It is why the care works.
